Keegan Smith, a freshman at Knoxville Catholic in Tennessee, finished 35th overall at the Eastbay Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego. Smith covered the 5-kilometer course in 16:02.8, becoming the fifth ninth-grader to compete in the boys national final in the history of the Kinney/Foot Locker/Eastbay national event.
